Keyboards (two of them just like Rick Wakeman!)

University lecturer, software engineer, technical consultant and all-round hi-tech geek, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that Adrian has also been stretching his fingers on musical keyboards from an early age. At the risk of sounding like a keyboard version of the Karate Kid, a kindly and wise old piano player taught him the basics of good keyboard technique when he was about 7 or 8 years old.
He was then given the choice of finding a classical teacher and completing a full set of grades or just continuing to practice and play for the sheer fun of it. Being the free-spirited type, he chose the second option and has been playing blues, rock and all manner of non-classically-trained keyboard parts ever since.
He joined a short-lived band while in college, but they became so wildly successful during their short career that he can't even remember what they were called. With the intervention of Real Life (jobs, moving away, moving back, getting married and so on and so forth) it was to be over twenty years before he played a live gig again when he signed on for a short stretch with the Cleveland Blues band in 2007/2008. 2011 sees him returning to the stage to serve up keyboards, vocals and maybe even the occasional bit of randomly-played rhythm guitar in the Blind Boys.
Although he gave up the high-power IT career over 5 years ago and now works with his wife running their own art and craft business, it should be obvious that Adrian's love of music and particular interest in all things keyboardy continues unabated.
Oh, and he is a Doctor too. (Although not a medical one. Or a Time Lord – as far as we know!)
